Foursquare is the next big thing in social networking. We know mobile is growing as a platform of choice for many association members, so foursquare is a logical progression.
We launched this blog in January 2009, so happy birthday to you, blog. One of the many theme post ideas we took on was Site of the Week. The vision was that every Friday we would post a new and helpful (or even bizarre) site that associations would find compelling, if not useful.
Imagine a member emailing with a question about how to access certain information on your website and you, not only guiding the member to their destination, but doing so with an online tutorial (no call back necessary) that you can archive to use again the next time somebody calls with the same question.
This week's site is a must see: SNAMA.
I don't hear a lot of associations talking about Digg. I suppose it's because Digg is not necessarily an obvious destination for your members to interact online. It appears to be more about ranking articles than about building community.
Okay, everyone. We have another aggregator for ya. And as Bryan Beaumont our ace developer here at Vanguard always says, "May the best aggregator win!"
This week's blog should be an instant add to your Google Reader. Beth's blog is an absolutely brilliant blog about social media in the non-profit realm. Advanced or beginner, this blog will up your social media game overnight. Set aside a good couple of hours to take it all in. You won't be able to stop reading.
