The Vanguard View: Insight for Association Websites

Site of the Week: TubeMogul

tubemogulThe web is video and video is the web. Don't believe me? Check out this site.

It's not an association website, but how long until we see one similar?

Many associations have learned the benefits of posting videos online, whether for member testimonials (what do you mean you don't do that yet?) or president's messages or for educational purposes. Some are higher quality than others.

If you're using YouTube as your platform for distribution, good for you. It allows you to embed videos on your website while still having a presence on Youtube for increased exposure. But here's where this week's site comes into play.

TubeMogul is in their own words: "the first online video analytics and distribution company serving publishers large and small who need independent information about video performance on the Internet and automated upload to the Web's top video sharing sites." In other words, you can upload a video to TubeMogul and they do the rest. On upload your video goes not just to YouTube, but to Revver, Viddler, Vimeo, and Yahoo! Video and others. You can then check performance of your video across all properties with easy-to-read statistics.

This tool allows you to increase your reach online with videos. Let me know how it works for you.
